Hollywood, Florida native Ann-Derie presents the official video for "Maximum Capacity", the new single from I Am Only Human, her forthcoming album which also spawned "Just Us", produced by Alvin Speights (R.I.P.), the engineer behind tracks for India Arie, TLC, Keith Sweat and many more. Shot in New York City, the "Maximum Capacity" clip comes on the heels of Ann-Derie's tour of the East Coast (watch her interview with 99JAMZ). "Maximum Capacity" is out now on Dxnna Music Group.

What can you tell us about the track "Maximum Capacity"? What was your inspiration? Thoughts behind the hook?

This song is about growing and learning your worth. Maximum capacity was inspired by pain over the years and learning who I am and who I want to be.

Where did you grow up and how has growing there influenced your style of music?

I grew up in Las Vegas nv and I wouldn’t say Vegas influenced my style of music. I believe my household and the influencers around me helped with my style of music

What do you do when you’re not making music?

Whenever I’m not focusing on music I am focusing on being the best mother I can be to my only child and focusing on my health and gaining knowledge about music, parenthood and health.

Who are you often compared to? why? How do you distinguish yourself from those artists?

I am often compared to Kelly Rowland as far as looks and Whitney and R Kelly when it comes to my voice and my style of writing. When I write I like to tell stories. I don’t try to distinguish myself from any artist I just be myself at all times.

What can we expect to see/hear from you in the future as far as new projects

I’m working on a few different projects but expect to hear music from the soul, I plan to make music felt again like it was felt in the 80s/90s

Any shoutouts?

I would like to give a shout out to everyone who believed and supported my dreams. Of course God.
