Mikhail Stukov: So YMX, tell us a little about yourself, where your from? When did you first become interested in music? When did you start rapping?
YMX: I started Rappin the Day after 2 Pac died
Mikhail Stukov: What prompted you to make a career out of rap? How you incorporated the name YMX ?
YMX: My real name is Malcolm.. Ymx stands for Young Malcolm X.. I will always be younger than The Original Malcolm X, i'm a Christian not Muslim Malcolm X. went through trials and tribulations to become who was he shows strength and character & that's to be admired.. I'll start a rapid because I was filled with pain. I was born in the ghetto & I've always always had visions of better days & better ways my visions turned to words & now I'm rapping..
Mikhail Stukov: When it comes to your lyrics, what motivates/inspires you ?
YMX: The struggle every day life what we go through the adversity The tears of hurt & the joy of love The smile of a child.
Mikhail Stukov: What do you look for in beats you’re selecting?
YMX: Bees talk to me I work with the producer out of Germany by the name of Cal1 who provided both beats for The featured song That ain't love and The song sometimes featuring Rappin 4 Tay
Mikhail Stukov: Besides music what other hobbies do you have? Please tell me about your typical day.
YMX: I'm a born hustler! God gave me the ability to be a leader. Every day I turn off the lights in the bathroom get on my knees & pray in the shower with the water running! My kids are my world! Music is my mental freedom from the world.. My days consist of strategizing to win & overcoming adversity
Mikhail Stukov: What do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
YMX: Being a responsible parent! Helping teaching & Sharing my life lessons good and bad someway somehow accomplish this every day!
Mikhail Stukov: What are your thoughts on how things are going in the music industry right now?
YMX: Some people are entertainers and some people are Artist I consider myself an artist! I believe music is watered down & politically controlled music is a free spirit & now it's like a robot controlled good music doesn't get played because the people in power have in mind what they want to be played for several different reasons one being money
Mikhail Stukov: What are your plans for longevity in this business of music ?
YMX: I do it for myself first & foremost. I'm a excellent networker so if I can Continue to network with real people & not the robots I'll be fine.
Mikhail Stukov: What’s one artist you would want to work with and why ?
YMX: I Would start in my home state California & then head to New York for some seasoning, Then to the south for some home-cookin lol.. SnoopDogg!
