Claes Kasper Bang, based in Copenhagen, presents his new single "Waiting for the Count-In." "Waiting for the Count-In" follows "Bring Me Back" as part of a forthcoming EP releasing under Bang's long-running independent music project This Is Not America. Born in Odense, Bang is an actor, musician, songwriter, and composer who began making music on his computer in 2002, taught himself piano and guitar, and adopted the alias This Is Not America in 2008 — drawn from the David Bowie song — after Danish radio had a standing policy of not giving airplay to actors. His debut album Dislocated arrived in 2010, and his catalog includes collaborations with Marina Schiptjenko and Charlotte Munck; early singles "Don't Come Crying," "Shameless," and "Run" received substantial Danish radio support before broadcasters identified him as the musician behind the project. Bang is the winner of the European Film Award for Best Actor for The Square, the first Danish actor to receive the award, and is internationally known for lead and supporting roles in BBC's Dracula, The Northman, and Bad Sisters. "Waiting for the Count-In" is out now.
